Hampton Rangers 0-3 FC Peterborough Development

We travelled to Hampton Rangers to play on their 3g pitch on Saturday.

The boys were eager to play having no game last weekend, and with a starting XI consisting of ten players under the age of 19, confidence was high.

The game started at quite a quick pace by both sides but was very scrapy in the opening 20mins with Hampton Rangers having the better of the early exchanges but with some solid defending and excellent Goalkeeping by Ali on his debut, the boys held firm.

After withstanding this early pressure, the boys started to get a foot hold in the game and began to play their football, creating some good chances.

On 25 minutes, we were rewarded a free kick just outside the area.

It was made for Assistant Manager Reece to step up and curl an absolutely wonderful free kick into the top corner. Wild ,Crazy scenes followed, and rightly so. 1-0 FCP.

The boys were buzzing, but Hampton came straight back at us, yet again, our defence was outstanding .

On 34 minutes, a sublime move starting from the back, playing fast forward passing, resulted in the ever impressive Mario slotting home to make it 2-0 FCP.

Hampton pushed forward, trying to claw back a goal before HT, but nothing was getting through our defence or keeper today.

2-0 HT . FCP.

2nd Half began with the boys knowing exactly what they had to do to win this game.

In terms of the young players' development, it was a huge 45 minutes, just to see how far the boys have come.

To be honest, the boys were outstanding and carried out to a tee in what they told at HT.

Defending brilliantly , Moved the ball quicker and attacked with real intent when needed.

This style of play was rewarded with another quality move for Eusebio to tap home to make it 3-0 FCP. 75mins.

The boys continued to create chances until FT but could not convert any.

3-0. FCP. FT.

After a tricky opening to the 1st Half where Hampton caused us some issues, the 2nd half was undoubtedly the most accomplished performance of the season against another tough opponent from this group of talented young players.

Development football at its best .
