Comeback win for the ressies Points shared for the devs

FCP Reserves 3-2 Sawtry FC

Last Saturday, we welcomed Sawtry FC to Millfield AutoParts Stadium for our sixteenth league match of the season. Our opponents were formidable and presented a challenging match that tested not only our football skills but also our character and determination to win. We were proud to pass this test and secure all the points, showcasing the quality and resilience of our squad.

We started the game strongly, controlling the play for the first twenty minutes but, unfortunately, failed to convert our good chances into goals. As the first half progressed, our opponents gradually found their rhythm and capitalized on our inability to score, shifting the momentum in their favor.

The second half began dominantly for our opponents, who played some impressive football, scoring two goals and establishing a well-deserved lead.

In the final twenty minutes, we made some tactical changes, bringing on Jonathan Aig-Immoru, Filip Czerwonka, and Snor Islam. These substitutions proved effective, as the players who came on contributed to all three of our goals that turned the game around.

We advanced deeper into their territory, and Snor assisted Leo, who scored a crucial goal that narrowed the gap, reigniting our fight. The score was now 1-2, and the opposition attempted to slow down the pace as anticipated.

Jonathan then drove into their defensive zone and was fouled by a defender, resulting in a penalty. Our experienced midfielder, Liam Oliver-Smith, converted the penalty, leveling the score at 2-2.

Despite the opposition's efforts to maintain the score, we pushed forward and dominated the last eight minutes of the match. Following a combination of play between Filip, Liam, and Snor, the ball found its way to Evander, who calmly scored from outside the 16-meter area, putting us ahead at 3-2.

In the remaining minutes, the team showed great composure in managing the clock and securing the win, earning all the points from Saturday's match.

This match was fiercely contested against a competitive team, highlighting our squad's exceptional football ability, resilience, and determination to win.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the first-team players who came down to support us, to Jamal for his excellent work, and to all our fans for their unwavering support. Wishing you all happy holidays and a prosperous New Year!

Peterborough Rangers Reserves 1-1 FCP Development

We made the short trip on Saturday to Peterborough Rangers Res in what was another local Derby.

On a good big pitch, FCP started really well and put the Peterborough Rangers defence under pressure, creating some good chances and having a few dangerous corners, but nothing came of this early pressure.

Peterborough Rangers started to come back into the game and had a decent spell with some dangerous free kicks and corners, but the FCP defence stood firm with the impressive Charlie commanding things.

FCP then really started to find their rhythm and created some wonderful chances before HT, but with some good saves and defending, it somehow ended 0-0 at HT.

2nd half began just as the 1st ended with FCP on the front foot, playing attacking football and really going at Peterborough Rangers, but again, our finishing let us down.

Eventually, our Skipper Ricardo had enough and took it upon himself to dance around 3 players and smash a shot from outside the box into the roof of the net! Stunning Goal!1-0 .FCP 63 mins.

Surely, this would spur the boys on to get a second, but unfortunately, just 5 mins later a lap in concentration and a poor challenge in the box gave Peterborough Rangers a penalty ,which they converted. 1-1. 68 mins.

This inspired Peterborough Rangers, but FCP didn't let this setback affect them, and still played the attacking football, creating some brilliant chances but yet again with a combination of good defending and some wayward finishing it stayed at 1-1.

The game drew to a close with FCP still trying to find the winner, but it was to no avail, and to be fair to Peterborough Rangers, they could have snatched it at the end.

1-1. FT.

Although the boys felt disappointed at the end, a point away to a good Peterborough Rangers Res was and is a very good result and will stand us in good stead going into the Christmas break and ready for the tough challenges in the New Year.
