Reserves Sweep Past Earl Barton

Reserves Sweep Past Earl Barton

Zameer Hussain1 Oct - 18:25

Earl Barton 0-11 FC Peterborough Reserves

Last Saturday was a busy one for FCP Reserves as we travelled to face Earl Barton’s First Team in the Les Underwood Junior Cup, a prestigious competition run by the Northamptonshire County FA.

Determined to put last week’s defeat behind us, we set out with a clear focus: to secure a strong result and progress to the next round of the Cup. From the very start, we showed our intent, opening the scoring just four minutes into the game and attacking relentlessly throughout the first half. By half-time, we had built a commanding 7-0 lead.

The half-time scoreline was a testament to the exceptional quality and teamwork on display. Each goal was the result of collective effort, and the celebrations reflected the unity and spirit of the team. The lads executed the game plan brilliantly, putting the team’s interests first.

At the break, the message was simple: maintain the high standards, keep playing our football, and stay focused. Every player who stepped onto the pitch in the second half did exactly that, continuing to dominate and play with confidence. By full-time, we had added four more goals to our tally, sealing an emphatic 11-0 victory.

This performance was a valuable reminder of the importance of teamwork, playing with intensity, and letting the ball do the work. The result didn’t surprise anyone watching—it was a well-deserved outcome given the level of football we produced. It has shown us that when we stick together and maintain our standards, the results will follow, along with the motivation to keep pushing forward.

It was a fantastic Saturday for the team, and we hope this result will inspire us to continue improving and growing stronger as the season progresses.
