Peterborough Lions 3-3 FC Peterborough Development

We travelled the short distance to face a resurgent P'Boro Lions side in a local Derby.

It's always a tough place to go & get a result for any side.

We started the game on the front foot, playing some lovely football & putting Lions under pressure, but we just could not find that early breakthrough.

Against the run of play Lions scored to make it 1-0.

The boys didn't let their heads drop & got a deserved penalty.
Kevin stepped up but their keeper saved it!
This knocked us & spurred Lions on till HT.

2nd Half & we started to up the tempo with our passing & put loads of pressure on the Lions defence, with corner after corner, hitting the bar & post, but Lions were defending brilliantly.

With 5 mins left of normal time, & with FCP piling bodies forward for an equaliser, Lions hit us on the break to make it 2-0 on 87mins.

Game over for FCP, no way! Kevin, literally from the restart, ran at the Lions defence & scored an unbelievable solo goal! 2-1.88 mins.

Again with FCP throwing everyone forward looking for an equaliser, Lions scored to make 3-1. 91mins.

Surely, that was game over for FCP, but there was still 8 mins of injury time left!

We just had to keep believing & go for it!

We managed to win the ball back from the restart & played a through ball to Riley who chased a lost cause & somehow between their keeper & defender the ball ended up in the back of the net!!
3-2.- 94 mins.

The boys were pumped & yet again from the restart won the ball back & charged forward en masse.

In the melee the ball fell to Muhib on the edge of the box for him to bury the ball into the bottom corner!! Cue wild scenes From all FCP players!
3-3. 96mins.

Yet still there was 2 mins to play & Riley almost snatched a winner with what the last kick of the game.

An outrageous comeback from the boys, that showed pure determination & passion to get something from that game.

In the end, it was amazing game to watch with both sides giving 100% right to the end.
